In this article, we'll guide you through the steps for generating, setting up, and linking your Gemini API key with Normal Finance.
Normal Finance is a financial platform specializing in indexing cryptocurrencies. It simplifies the cryptocurrency acquisition process, making it as easy as a single click. Normal Finance has pioneered the world's first crypto index fund tool, streamlining the trading experience.
All trading activities are conducted and processed through an exclusive exchange API key assigned to each user. An API key offers a secure and dependable means of utilizing the platform, as it does not grant access to personal data and ensures the safeguarding of fund management activities, such as withdrawals and deposits.
1. Log in to Gemini
Access your Gemini account by logging in or establish a new account.
2. Go to the API keys page
To create a new key, go to the [Account] section in your profile icon located at the top-right corner.
3. Proceed to the settings page
Then navigate your mouse cursor to the "Settings" page.
4. Create a new API key
Click [Create API key] to start adjusting your API info.
5. Select the scope for your API key
To set up your API key successfully, pick a primary account.
6. Name your API key and match API key permissions
Feel free to assign a name of your choosing to your API key; this helps you easily recognize that it's associated with your Normal account.
Next, make adjustments to your permissions as demonstrated in the following example. These permissions are essential for us to access your transaction history, view your current balance, and carry out trading operations on your exchange account.
Here is the list of necessary permissions:
Auditor: Disabled
Fund Management: Disabled
Trading: Enabled
Additional notes:
Make sure to use a primary account.
Do not require a session heartbeat.
Copy your API and Secret keys.
When you save both API and Secret keys, please click [Create API key].
7. Go to Normal > My Exchanges
Now your Gemini trading key is successfully created and ready to be connected to our platform!
Please, copy your API key and Secret key somewhere safe before you add them to Normal. Access your Normal account, navigate to the "Exchanges" section, and select your preferred exchange.
8. Select Gemini exchange and enter your API info
You should choose Gemini from the pop-up window, which will then bring up a new window where you can input your API key and Secret key, followed by clicking the [Connect] button.
9. Connection check
If all steps are executed accurately, you'll observe Gemini listed among your connected exchanges, indicated as "Connected," along with the displayed trading balance accessible in your account.
